RTR13, Feb 18-20,
2005
| |
Like RTRs before, RTR13 was a complete success!
100 riders made it from all points of the country - New Jersey,
Florida, California, Washington, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri and more
states were represented in this remote part of West Texas. The weather was
not as perfect as years past - more clouds than sun, but no rain and the temperatures were ideal.
The 13th Ride The Rio continued its reign at The Chisos Mining Company
Motel, and it was a wonderful stay. The Thursday night cookout was great
fun, and a
return to the Starlight Theater for the Saturday night banquet proved
thebest meal of the weekend. New this year was having the Friday night
Bar-B-Q catered on-site. Though not part of the RTR registration, the
Friday night bar-b-q cost riders just $5.00 and it was prepared in front
of our eyes: onions were chopped, tortillas warmed, and fajitas cooked -
all fresh, all hot, all delicious. Plans are
underway for RTR14, the weekend of Feb 17-19, 2006 - we hope to
duplicate all the successes of RTR13! See you there!
Pictures aren't so numerous this year.
I guess folks were pretty busy riding! With plenty of other pictures on
this site, we think you'll get the idea that the Texas Big Bend is a
beautiful area and worth a visit, even if only a handful are available
from RTR 2005. |

Riders who venture off-road
in BBNP are rewarded with easy-to-hard roads, trails and single track, not
to mention stunning views. |

Not too many choices when you

BBNP sees its share of
motorhomes, but a street-legal dirtbike can go places they can't even dream
of! |

Like horses at a hitching

Randy has a garage full of

perfectly. |
